I am stretching my Rx1 ER 121 to a 136". Do I need to add an exchanger to the rear? I never had a overheat problem and the posts here seem to be limited to the Warriors and not the stretched. What do you guys think and why?

I have 2 warriors bolth the same setup. One overheated about 8 times last winter just the temp light stuill ran the same. Other never overheated once bolth rideing togher in same conditions.

Indy, how is the stretch project going? Got all your parts? Don't know what to say on the added exchanger, it wouldn't hurt to add one, if you wan't to spend $100.

INDY; Either a guage for now and possibly an exchanger later. If you ride a lot of trails that get super hard packed and kick up little if any dust, your going to need one. I only experienced that problem under those conditions late in the season, after a slight melt then a freeze over. I put a guage on my Warrior and Yamaha's putting the rear exchanger on for me, now I know I will have no problems this season at all. ;)! :D :D :D :-o

In 6,000 miles I only saw the temp light once with my shorty. Was running alot of roads with little snow on edge and I was expecting it. Fortunately I made it to some loose snow just as the light did come on.

RX-1 Rear Heat Exchanger

I added the Rear Heat Exchanger from Yamaha late last season.
Watched my temp guage and it made around 20 degrees difference.
I think it's well worth the $100.00

What is the actual temps before the heat exchanger install?? Also, what kind of gauge are you using??? :yam:
