Does anyone just "leave 'em alone"?

Ah, right. Well, it's close to stock again. Last year's crash bitched the crank, and I haven't had time to re-build it. The strong motor is sitting at the end of my bench waiting for some love...

BH - Spend some time setting the suspension up so that it works best for you, and how you ride. Check over your secondary clutch (lots of Yamahas seem to have too much belt deflection out of the crate). Break it in properly, and you'll love your sled just the way it is. After you put some K's on it, you might want to try one of Matt's clutch kits. Yamaha leaves quite a bit on the table when it comes to getting power to the ground.

I rode my sled totally stock for a long time... IT IS A AWSOME SLED EVEN STOCK!!

My problem is i always think i can make things better than factory!!

I still have my xc800 & have not riddin since i got my 03 rx1 two years ago, you ( might?) be a little unhappy with the handling but you will NEVER go back. when you sqeeze the trigger on the rx1 it feels like a jet airplane compared to a tank. So Smooooooooth. :4STroke:

Mighty Warrior, watch what you say, Musky Hunter says she's mine.

My sled is stock, its okay. I'd like to change it a bit, but I like reliability. I don't want to lose a weekend of riding by going home early due to problems. I know some of you out there are probably set up and ready for the unfortunate, but I don't want to work on my sled while I'm on vacation.

I have a stock 2004 RX-1 and have not done any mods to it. It is much more reliable than any of the 2 strokes I have owned and soooooo smooth. Great motor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because I have a RX1 Mountain and live in mid Michigan, I had to regear and reclutch to the shorty set up, also I added the longer sway bar links, GPS system, rear cooler and a horn. Other than that it is stock and I love how it runs. :-o

;)! I have a 03'rx1 shorty, black, all stock. Best sled I have ever had!!!! I use it all the time to take my wife and kids out on the trails. It all comes down to your routine checks and changes. Keep it all up to snuff and it will never give you a fit , I also have a 97' venture 2-up all stock never a break down on the trail yet. :yam: YAMAHA nuff said!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a 2003 and played around with clutching, suspension etc. I don't live anywhere where I can tune and test for any length of time so to answer your question......I will be leaving my 2005 alone (totally stock) this season....(except for the Whiteknuckle Exhaust) but that doesn't count. 8)

My '03 has a completely stock engine. No clutching, no exhaust, nothing. My biggest change was the rear suspension, but Yammy should have that better for '05. I'm in it for the reliability, and it has that! I have almost 5K on mine now, and I changed the plugs one just for the hell of it. I change the oil more often than the manual says and so far, except for some broken rear suspension parts, I haven't broken anything important. Even then, I was able to limp it home. Bone stock I could keep up with any stock 700, and most 800s. With my Cat suspension and track, I completely blew away an MXZ-700 and I'm looking forward to playing with the big boys this season.

I have an 04 warrior. Only 1500 miles on it,not really even broken in. Totally awsome sled. I also have an 03 Firecat F7 sno Pro. I am selling the lighter, more agile, but less relaible F-7 and staying with the Warrior. My wifes 05 Vector Er arrived today at my dealer!!! cant wait to pick it up.

on my 2003 rx1er every thing under the hood is stock, wich is a first for me. every other sled i owned i added something to get better performance.i dont feel like i need more power, the top end is awsum.it will eat a f7 from70 on up every time.i wonder how much money i have saved in sparkplugs,(just changed them for the first time at 5000 miles)belts,(still have the 2 i started out with)fuel,(runs on regular and uses less of it)oil,(it does burn a quart every 700-1000 miles).i will say this is also the only sled i have had to work on the suspension(allott!)longer links, woodys duallys, thicker spacers on controll rods, straight rate springs, and finally the thing that turned this sled into a trail burner,c&a razor pro skis.but it has been fun learning about suspension tweeking.bottom line is this is my first yamaha, best sled ever.hands down ;)!
