Does M10 hurt performance very much?

I know someone with an 03 that has a stage 2 turbo, and runs even with a stock 03. He was told that it is normal because he is 50# heeavier than the other driver, and has an M10. Could those 2 things make that much difference?

Yes I have heard from those who have had M-10's that top speed is lost. I cannot remember why, but didn't really care because I didn't want to lose any top speed. Yes I'd like to have a better suspension, but I'm not going to spend money to sacrafice my performance. Thats why they sell turbos, so now you're even spending more money. It doesn't sound right though, but a rider that weighs only 50 lbs more with an M-10 needs a turbo to keep up to a stock sled? A friend who also rides an RX-1 and who is about 50 to 60 lbs heavier than me with 144 studs will out accelerate me on my bone stock sled. That alone tells me that the M-10 is a big drag on performance.

I installed my suspension at the same time as the turbo, so this is tough to answer. But mine is much faster even with the M10 than a stocker.

I will have a direct comparison soon, as I am in the process of installing the pro-action back in with SRX shocks to do some speed runs. I am building custom drop brackets so it is an easy swap between skids. 8)

They do have weight transfer, but the ride quality is not as good as an M10.

I believe this will be a good solution, as it will be a 20min. skid swap. Also it should be faster than an RX1 shocked pro-action.

The only time the lack of transfer comes into play, is drag racing from a complete stoip. Normal riding which is what most people do, the lack of agressive transfer is an asset. This skid handles so well you can't believe it is the same sled.

You can excellerate into & thru a corner, beacuase of the lack of lift & transfer. This is much more fun to do than sit on the lake and drag race. IMHO

I've read somewere that you can get the transfer stops from a Blade and that will increase your transfer on a M10. But normally on a stock aplication the M10 is 5 to 10 mph slower on the top end and lacks the transfer you need for take off. But RX1 Yopper, your buddy with the 2 stage turbo has something that is not set up right. Even with the M10, and extra weight, that sled should rock. His clutching is off or he is not hooking upat all.

There is no question the M10 kills your performace. We did a side by side comparison with the m10 and the X. the sleds were identical clutched, geared, and stud quanity. in 660 the X was 5 to 6 mph faster and 8 sleds quicker. in 1000 feet it was 8 mph and 12 to 15 sleds quicker. We used a GPS for MPH.

the M10 is the plushest ride. The X is 20 times better then stock. with the M10 being 30 times better then stock. I've orde both extensivly!!!!
