Donuts gone?

Hey everyone, I have about 4,500 miles on my attak and the last two trips I have noticed that my sled sounds like #*$&@ at idle. and seems excessively louder at certain speeds....I actually wear ear plugs now. Do you think it is the donuts on the exhaust I hear so much about being gone?

Yup.

With the sled running (and with gloves on!) put your hands over both exhaust pipes at the back. If it stalls, the doughnuts are likely fine. If it stays running, the exhaust is getting out somewhere else - likely via the donuts....

4500 miles, ya might better do them anyway..it won't be long if they aren't toast already..just might save your pipes, too.
Mine started with 'it doesn't sound right at idle' talk too.....

yes..last week I took mine apart as a precheck for next season. I had no obvious signs but from what I've read here it was going to be sooner or later. I figured do it on my terms.
My Ypipe was chiped at the flanges.
I called for parts (the new ss ypipes from Yami) and got talking to my dealer. He told me he'd do it as it falls in the 30month emissons program. Labor and parts.
