I have a considerable amount of R&D put into my once stock rear end. I think I keep the stock rails in'er. The bad part is that the rails are $170/ea. Looks like I bent up the shock support rods too. EXPENSIVE SPORT!

The landing was straight on. The track was super loose, so I'm sure it was just off centered a bit.

Gotta grab the brake in the air it will bring the nose down.

Thanks for the inside scoop revester, I am already savvy to that trick, it was just a misjudgement on my part. I have a whole new skid comming thanks to tangerine427.

NOW I THINK SOMETHING IS MISSING FROM THE STORY , FOR IT TO BEND THAT WAY . AND THE XTX HAS A DOUBLE UP REINFORCED PLATE RIGHT THERE . SO POST MORE PICS AND TELL US THE REAL STORY

I'll post some more pics when I pull the skid out. I haven't taken anymore since I bent up my rails. I can honestly say that "there is no more to the story". I hit a big banked up berm and there wasn't a lot of soft stuff on the other side. As soon as I came down, I heard a loud ratchet sound and it was game over.

Can't see that being a result of being a long track. Love mine!

I have to believe that the extra length isn't made for ditch banging. I've folded tunnels on 121's before but never rails.

It might take a bit more elbow grease but that should buff right out............but really thats crazy. Never seen that before.
The longer the rail the weaker they are. This is due to the longer span between the front and rear arms. Rail stiffeners help out greatly to prevent this from occuring. I cracked both the rails in my Vector with the Pro-Active rear skid. It was a 121 version of RS Venture skid. The XTX skid is the same as the Venture's but uses tipped up rails.

I would like to add that I don't consider this a "Flaw" on the snowmobiles part. Manufacturers build snowmobiles with the "average consumer" in mind. My next set of rails will be reinforced!
