I'm considering Dragon Fly weights or similar anyone who is running something other then stock Yamaha weights please post what your running and your thoughts. Thanks

They work great.
Also the viper weights fully loaded with 14.5 mm rollers and the lightest spring Yamaha makes will blow you away. you may need to add a washer with the rivets as the weights are on the light side . If you use the same spring and roller combo with the drag and fly weights you have more adjust-ability --- works real well.
have fun.

THANKS!
Thanks for the input much appreciated! Can you elaborate on the track speed your seeing in the steep and deep fully loaded climbing? Right now I'm seeing 48 to 50 mph consisten on long hard climbs never higher then 50mph. Also how about cruise rpm at 35mph and engagement RPM..

You will not see a huge difference in track-speed if you are pulling the proper RPM with your current set up .
But it will shift a lot better and throttle response is way improved.
Running against a totally stock sled that we used for comparison I would consistently beat him of the line by 2 to 3 sled length after the clutching change. I also run a team roller secondary that helps with back-shift.
There is no change in top speed after the first 100 feet , but at that point you are 4-5 sled length ahead.
Boon-docking, drag-racing and hill-climbing is a vast improvement though and it has almost 0 engine braking , it will respond very much like a well set up 2 stroke in response and deceleration. By the way the shock wave is a very poor tuning tool . Most of the guys running them here never get the full potential out of there sled because they try to do it all on the helix. A good roller secondary is the ticket for smooth shifting and the front should control rpm at al times.

great info!
Thanks for the info! The two sleds your comparing are both Apex's right? Also is this clutch set up something the Adams boys at Yukon Yamaha use on there Apex's? Can I call them for the clutch set up, just buy the weights etc. from them directly?
I want to be clear on the Team roller secondary, did you buy it directly from TEAM and what Helix are you using at what elevations. I would PM you but feel like this is great info for others wanting non boosted sled info and there isn't much available on any forum. Again thanks for your info!
