drag raced F1000

Still no.

Horsepower is a mathematical entity and can do no work. Torque in motion does it all. To keep something moving in the face of outside forces work must be delivered. When the load is accelerated horsepower will be recognized during the change in velocity.

Simplified equations that relate HP to RPM are used mostly as proxies for other functions. For example, they may allow for estimations of energy requirements of a system when other factors are not easily determined.

Ain't this fun!

Work = force x distance measured in newtons, gr 11 physics here

Work = Force (derived from pressure within the cylinder) X Distance (derived by the stroke of the piston)

The work of the piston creates a moment on the crank shaft, which is seen as torque. This is a transfer of linear motion (FXd) to angular and back to linear at the track. It's work in motion.

Guys I don't think he's getting this from Wikipedia, he seems to know of what he speaks.

wiki has nothing to do with this its only a quick reference, i guess my schooling means nothing then as the internets people are the best profs out there apparently. I need to find someone with an f1000 to race now so i can show him how much work my sled can do! :yam:

A great saying I heard before:
"hP is what you read, Torque is what you feel"

but to put this all to rest, here is the simplest way to put this and get back to.....well what ever we do:

hP is how fast you hit a brick wall
Torque is how hard you hit a brick wall

Just sat down and read thru this post. I must say, at times the pooches looked at me strangely for my uncontollable laughter. Speaking as "one of those engineers in watching", listen to arteeex.

Have a blast and ride safe!
