Drive Light Flashes when letting up on Throttle

I noticed this weekend when letting off the on the throttle, the Drive light would blink - just once. It doesn't happen if is a gradual slowdown but if I completely let off the throttle going fast, the green light flashes once.

Is that normal? I thought it might come on when the engine braking does?

Mine's never done that. I think when it blinks it means it's not in gear properly.

Maybe check the chain tension?

Mine started doing that this year too. It still works fine. Went back and forth several times to make sure it was all the way in gear also.
The only thing different is the dealer just did the reverse up-date this fall. Coinsidense???

I had the chain case oil replaced in Jan along with a pre-season tune-up. I did put a new belt in it - the dealer gave me an 8DN. Maybe that's why?

It only does it on a hard deceleration. It only flashes once - not the constant flash like when its not in gear. I will keep my eye on it.

I have had the reverse update sincie 09 with no issues but maybe I'm just lucky?
