Drive Shaft Splines- anyone else have this happen.

Once you pic a seal you have technically compromised the bearing. Don't even think of telling an NTN or SKF guy - they will warn you off of doing this.lol. Regardless, after cleaning and repacking, bearing longevity can be hugely extended. Even if you over pack and it works its way out there is often still more inside than when new.

Many of us have done it. IMO, you need the right pic (dental pick) with a very fine small hook or curve to it. I pick seal out at the OD of seal, never ID. IMO it's easy to damage ID area due to the seal being very thin there. OD is usually much thicker and doesn't have the thin edge the ID does. ID of bearing turns, not OD so even if you buggered up the OD a little bit, it shouldn't matter since the seal sit stationery at the OD. JM.02
