Driven pulley play, is this right?

I've got a 2003 RX1 that I bought used at the end of last season. It's got 2680 miles on it. My neighbor and I were talking last night and we decided to take the belt off (we were thinking better do it in the comfort of a garage for the first time instead in the cold somewhere). In the process of inspecting it we noticed the driven pulley moves in and out on the shaft about 1/16" to 1/8". Is that normal? It's still under warranty until November as I recall.

Its been normal on the Yamaha's I've owned in the past.

Yes that is normal both my 04 and 05 move about that much. What I am talking about is a side to side movement if it is up and down movement bearings have to be changed. With it off would be a good time to check for chain tension also.

It's normal. It's called a floating secondary.
