Driveshaft bearing help

The other thing that happened to me was that the locking nut came off the tapered bearing on the clutch side but I was told that I'm the only one that this has ever happened to (by somebody who is no longer allowed on the site-LOL).

Actually, I have read a handful of posts, rite here on this board of more than one occurrence of this happening... So... yeah... I suppose i should check that sucker out then... Good point!!
How tight is that thing supposed to be anyway?? Besides the Spec. torque?? Obviously its kinda difficult to get a torque measuring device in there...

Perhaps tell me how big of a hammer to use on the end of a 3 foot flat head screwdriver?? LOL Kinda ridiculous to use this kind of description... but hay.. not all of us have these fancy dancy tools at our disposal..

When I replaced my bearings, I thumped it pretty good with a 2 pounder... not excessively hard, but... it didn't move anymore by just a slight thump over and abp0ve the weight of the hammer... Can anything bad happen from over tightening?? Personally, i can't see it... unless yah tighten the sucker as tight as a tractor trailer lug nut!!

I posted a few vids on my youtube if you care to check them out... :) click on the WWW thing there at the bottom of my posts..
the last few are taken with me new HD camera, so if your computer is capable, be sure to select the 720p HD thing
