If I go to dual carbides with a 121" Ice Ripper track and stock skis should I go with 6" or 9" length? I do mostly trail riding and would say that I'm semi-aggressive in riding style. I found a set of 9" Stud Boys for sale privately but thought that they might be too much for cornering at that length.

I have 6 inch duallys with no studs or ice ripper ( inch and a quarter ripsaw )and dont feel its too much ,

Go 6". I use a duallyu one one side and a single on the other to help stem datring. I'm running 168 hedgehogs down the center. I think 8" would drive you nuts for your style of riding.

If you are on hard pack 9" will turn like a tank but when the snow loosens up they are awsome. I have the 9" studboys on USI's and when I am at slow speeds in the A.M. I have to burp the throttle to raise the ski from the snow turn the skis and the nose drops and they rail the corner. 9" are for the agressive rider that does not mind the additional effort.
The 6" woody's will work best for the rider that wants o darting and great cornering with little effort.

That's kinda what I thought so I will pass on the 9" set. If anyone is interested there is a guy in Oshawa selling a new pair of 9" Stud boys dual carbides on kijiji.ca for $100 (they retail around $180) and he has shaper bars and other stuff too.

This is a little off topic but.... I rode my Sons sled this weekend with single carbides, WOW did it SUCK (darted all over the place). I did not know it was that bad after riding with my dual carbides the last couple years, I can not belive he was not complaining. My wifes sled has had them for a few years and when I rode hers the dual carbides went on mine. He will have a set of duallys for next season. There is zero darting with the duallys, will not buy a single carbide ever again.

getting ready to pick up some dual carbides for this season, after searching through the site, I think i'm going with the 6" woody doolys, but I see the woody's Slim Jims in the Royal Distributing catalouge. I can't seem to find much information on them here. So what do you think, regular doolys or the slim jims...stock skis by the way

I found this article on how they thought they worked for them, keep in mind they tested them on a Polaris.

The Slim Jim's are a little more aggressive, but the regular Dooly's are fine, and they last longer.

I had an extremely tight budget this year and needed new carbides so I had to bite the bullet and buy some Woody's blazer IV's instead of the Dooly's I had originally picked out. You just made me more sad.

Dually Carbides
I have been running Stud Boy 9" duallys for a couple of years now. Eliminated the darting compleatly, and I have not experienced any difficulty with steering on hardpack.
Just checked the carbides and they look good for another year!
