I put on a set of DuPont slides about 800-1000 mi ago. I was wondering how youre supposed to check the wear on them? They don't have a wear line like the standard slides do.

Don't worry
I took mine off with 7800km on
They probably would have lasted but looked worn
I looked at them when off and they were still good for a few thousand more

Does your xtx wear kind towards the back of the slides..like maybe a foot in front of the rear bogies? That's where mine gets it bad..my past sleds wore more to the front

Mine wear more towards the back as well. Fairly even till about half way to the front and then it starts to get thicker again. This year for some reason my left side wore more then the right side. Not sure if it was conditions on the one trail ride I was on or what was going on. Just hopping they make it through this year then I'll put a set of dupoints on next fall.

I actually noticed what looked like some melting going on on one side of my duponts..that's why im wondering how to check them for wear when they have no line. Sounds like I have nothing to worry about with the duponts though

got this sled new in October. with the standard hyfax I burned through two sets in a thousand miles. and like you say tons of material on most of them except one spot closer to the rear they were burned right past the wear line..thats why I went with the duponts

I believe when there around 12-13 mm (at the most worn area ). A good way to check is with an open end wrench.

Mine wear lot where the rail tips on my xtx but I also noticed when they wear doen a bit amd the idlers seem to prolong the last bit of wear a lot.

I have a new set sitting on the shelf that have a total height measurement of 19.1 mm. The wear portion thickness that is under the rail is 10.1 mm but of course the vespel insert is less than that so probably expect faster wear as you get close to replacement thickness.

Added these + Excell's 6 wheel kit, roll the skid across the floor....
A few of us had to run some pretty nasty about bare roadside for 3ish miles with hardly any lube, couple guys were smelling plastic by the end, not me.
Only got about 500 miles on them but look like new, heard from dealer 2500 miles or more pending conditions.
Reading some on here, think they'll be worth the $120.

Dupont slides
Mine have about 1600 miles on them and they are about 9/16 of an inch(14mm)(most worn) at the tip-up part of the rail. They seem to be staying right around 14mm after they wore down to that point. I'am keeping and eye on them just measuring with a tape measure under the slider to the top of the slider and making sure they don't go less the 7/16 of inch(12mm).

If I remember correctly, I believe Yamaha recommends replacement when the minimum thickness of the slider reaches 10mm. I use an open end wrench to check as well.

Last time I scribed a 10mm line on the sliders with vernier calipers before installing them. You could probably do the same with a wrench if the tip is sharp.

Had the skid out on my machine this week and some of the inset blocks wore off so I changed them to be safe.
At that point had close to 6k on them - not too bad.
I also cut a cross section through them to see how thick the slider is after the DuPont inserts wear off.
New - the slider is 19.8 mm thick.
There is a total of 10mm of material to wear.
After the DuPont block wear out there is 5mm left of slider.
The easiest is to keep riding until and then when you see the slider getting thinner, flip the sled on its side and check to see if you have ground the blocks off. And if you have, there is only 5mm left so be cautious.
They held up well, all the wear was in the front end of the skid at the curve. The backs still had tons of material.
Perhaps larger wheels in the front are in order....
