well i guess this should start with a huge THANKS FREDDIE not just from me but from everyone
the knowledge this guys has stored in his head is amazing
but any way my theory that knappattack and i were talking about while ago proved out at freddies today-there is no question that a positive crankcase evacuation system builds more power-especially torque
as you can see by freddies post there is a substantial amt gained in the midrange -remember to multibly the torque numbers by 1.2 to get the actual clutch torque-this midrange punch i feel is comparable to say a set of v force reeds that you would pay lots more for-so for 25$ its definatly worth it-an added benefit that cant be realized in the shop is the lack of ice buildup in the lines and blocking the vent thereby popping the valve cover gaskets-also no oily mist sprayed anywhere in the engine area and more than likely less oil use by the motor due to better ring sealing-could this be the answer to oil consumption?maybe for some maybe not for others
any way i can tell you that the 10ek plugs make more power than the 9s or the iridium ones-about 2-4hp and way more after 10000rpm
freddies filter crushed the raptor styled ones by k/n by a long shot
the silver springs/165 jet combo works perfect
simply stated-what freddie says is gospel-this guy has spent so much time into engineering this stuff for us that you cant imagine-listen to what he says-he knows his sh**

so guys i hope this enlightened you as much as it did me freddie and i both wished some of you guys were there with us but..
if there are any questions let us know-myself or freddie
as for info on the evac "kits"i can make them up and ship them to you if you would like or try to explain how to fabricate them

Okay , Can you explain how basically how to build a evac system. I was just going to plumb some holes in my ECP filters and run a 3/4 hose to my crank case breather port on my block. I guess basically thats it unless you have some special setup.

If you did make up these kits, how fast can you have them and how much off the top of your head will they cost.

Correct me if I'm wrong but we should Drill a hole in the center of each filter (right in the middle of the K&N symbol), install an elbo with a small piece of tubing and connect to a T. Then run the crank case hose directly from the tube coming out of the engine block up to the T, correct?

I'm guessing we don't need the plastic oil vapor trap anymore?

basics are some hose and fittings
i can have them made up and shipped by tuesday id say about 25bucks
if that much
its kinds hard to explain in words how to make them but there is a trick to them-i was just going to get all the parts together and make it then ill send them out to you guys with some instructions-i think freddie may put something like this in all the filter kits

THANKS for taking the time with Freedie in doing this test.I just put this mod on my filters. I have one question ,if I could put more force air in the filters ,would I benefit from it?THANKS

Do you have a photo of one installed? I am wondering about the use of the prefilters with the evac kit installed.
Sounds like it was worth the effort. 8)

DYNAREX,

When you did the testing today, did you measue the vacuum level you were creating in the hose of the crankcase vent? The larger the vacuum level, the better the effect, right?

no we did not measure as it will change with rpm-there is a limit as to how much vacuum you want -we certainly dont want to suck any oil seals inward!-but the amt supplied by the intake is the amt of air being drawn into the combustion chamber right?so its kinda like a balance thing-whatever is displaced up top gets sucked out underneath the piston

If I could get the outside air from my vents to flow directly to my filters would I benefit from this?THANKS

blue shadow-
anytime you can effectively "force"colder air into an engine you will make more power, provided you can fuel the air accordingly-
thats basically what an intercooled turbo does
