Hey all, i am deciding on a new sled for myself and I am between a 2011 800 e-tec and a nytro mtx. I have seen a few articles about the new blend and know that 2 strokes dont like ethanol at all, so how about the 4 strokes? Do they do ok with the ethanol blend? Does it hurt them at all?

Thanks.

It hurts ME to even think about E15! It's not good for anything except politicians and corn farmers. Everything else, including the environment and our sleds suffers.

I agree. I wish the feds would quit doing whats best for us. [/list]

I will not run that corn crap in anything. 10% OK...... 15% will burn up everything you have unless made to run E15. E 15 or any E is a scam does not save anybody anything when you understand all the energy costs to manu E.

Holland Mi. Does Chad Hord ring a bell?

No, not really. But i know a LOT of people by first name only. Age? occupation?
Dang, sorry, Felch Mi. (Pro Short Course Off-Road race truck driver.) I can't think of who's from Holland???

Etec & 2011 Yam 150 both recomend Premium Gas to get the most HP from engines. Most Premium Gas just that straight gas no E regardles what is it says on pump. 4s always less gas sensitive than 2s. Bad gas can burndown a 2s not so with 4s may not run the best but will get thru it next for fill up.

Thats kind of what i was thinking too. I was not aware that premium had no ethanol in it though. I was thinking that ALL gasoline had to have ethanol in it. :drink:

Ever wonder why we don't have E-100 instead of E-85? 15% gas is added to the alcohol to make you think twice about drinking it. Gas is also the cheapest substance of any other to make you refrain from drinking E-85.

Now E-100 would be very useful. Figures they won't give us that! :drink:

As mentioned your sleds will be fine with E-10.

DO NOT PUT E-15 in your sled. It may run on it. However the internal parts of the fuel system were not designed for E-15. Bad things will happen.
Even with cars. Vehicles made before were not intended for E-15. Unless it is a flex-fuel vehicle. Most vehicles made after 2007 are suposed to be ok.
Stay away from E-15. Don't put it in your sled, boat, 4-wheeler, lawnmower, chainsaw. or anything else.

Sigh and thats all I can burn in my old 68! Damn blended fuel! Guess that is how they will get the old cars off the road.
