I have an 04 RX1 Mountain (stock) and looking to get some more bling out of it. I am exploring the idea of ECP's and clutching. I have researched the ECP forum and find lots of positives with some negatives. I also find there are people using different evac setups.
Anyway, is there a clutch kit that is suited for the RM1M 151"/2"? Are the ECP's good in snow with the pre-filters? There are no mountains here, I ride deep snow, lakes, bush and it is cold in northern Ontario with 1500-2000ft elevation.
I am interested in a kit that is tried and true with the best evac set up and how much would the damage ($$) be?

The ECP Air Kit is $265.00. I have them in stock. The evac kit is $45.00 to $50.00 depending on how you want it set up. You could go to your local auto parts store and buy the parts for about $15.00 US.

Yes they work well in the mountains. Make sure you route your EVAC lines throught the stock oil catch basin and up and over into the filters so you can't get a straight shot of oil into your carbs (like I did) on a rollover. Doing so more or less creates a "trap" that will prevent this from happening.
You will need prefilters and crack your carb heat (coolant) line about 1/3 when riding behind someone (snow dust) or in the deep powder.
I also found raising the needles to #4 (one click richer) seemed to get rid of the "burble" I had with the filters.
Good Luck

I would suggest to you to put the vent filters on your sled too to keep the powder out of the engine compartment altogether.
ECP and snow dust....
I know this is like beating a dead dog.... but I gotta ask one more question about the ECP kit. I have been trimming my rx-1 down to get as much weight as possible off of it, and also trying to add mods as I go. I am plannin on putting on one of those Diamond hoods with the aluminum frame and fabric covering. Now everyone swears that these dont let snowdust under the hood, but I just can't keep from being suspicious. If anyone has any experience let me know! I would like to put in the ECP kit as well to add some more power and get a little less weight. Any input would be great!~
btw: riding between sealevel and 3000ft here in Alaska, suggestions for the ECP? Carb compensator?

Coldwater... The pre filters rob zero power. Why chance it?
