I ride a Mountain sled so 100mph+ is never an issue but I can say that the filters don't just add a little to the mid range. With the gutted muffler and the ECP this thing pulls hard.

Don't be a bolt on geek or assume its a whole bunch of parts causing an issue. It's real simple, the kit gives the motor more power. The key is to put the increased power to the track. If it's not getting to the track, chances are it's the clutching. Change one variable at a time, not a whole bunch. These motors are also very sensitive to carb synchronizing, you can do it yourself if you're semi mechanical with an 80 dollar manometer, or have the dealer do it. I have an 05 with the kit, and HH clutching. I can't imagine the sled without it, it's very impressive. I only have 250 miles on, and really haven't done any extended WOT running yet, but if I ever had any top end issues. Tuning takes time and patience, and testing. Too many guys throw the baby out with the bath water. The kit is good. 10-20 more hp throughout the midrange and several more on top....what's not to like?

thunder lips said:My ECP kit didn't make that much difference. Last night I raced my buddies 03 RX-1 and we were dead even all the way to top end when he pulled me badly. I am taking the thing off tonight to get my original performance back. If you want the kit talk to Freddie at ECP he will hook you up. I just didn't have good luck with the kit vs. stock. Thats just my experience with it.
Did you sinc the carbs?
Did you add the silver carb springs..?
DId you install the 165 main jets?
Did you install the NGK plugs?
Were the filters all the way on? (airl leaks are bad on these carbs)
Did you remember to take the Parking brake off?
Your sled with the compete dialed in ECP kit should SMOKE the stock rx-1 of your buddies.. If not you did something WRONG..

Thunder Lips...if you are nearby to Connecticut or want to take the ride with your sled, I am sure I could correct the problem(s) you are experiencing. If you are not willing to take the trip to ECP, call me and I will try to assist you over the telephone.

Trust me...all the air kit owners can't possibly all be wrong.
