That, about that EPS...what are your thoughts...worth it for someone with tendonitis, have you managed to adjust it to kick out at high speed? Any additional comments are welcomed, seriously thinking of power steering, either by mechanical or electric assist. Thanks, JoeGive me a couple of weeks and I will give a comprehensive report after my next trip. The twisties performance is awesome, but there are some high speed compromises that I'm trying to tune out. After my next trip I will report my findings but I don't want to say too much more. I'll say that once I have had this it's pretty hard to accept not having it..

I made a trip to New Hampshire and a couple to tug hill with the power steering. I have a 17 Winder LTX LE, it is studded up the center of track and I have Arctic Cat skis with 6”shaper bars.
I started several years ago with the MPS kit from Travis. Travis makes great stuff it did exactly what it said it would do. It did increase the turning radius but it was well worth the money and it worked until my shoulder started to act up. I have a shoulder issue that continues to get worse with age. So I decided to get the power steering kit from GSE as my shoulder would bother me on rides over 100 miles. If my shoulder was not such a bother to me I would still be running Travis’s MPS kit...
The GSE kit was very easy to install and the instructions were pretty straightforward no issues with the installation. I was concerned since the GSE kit was non-speed sensitive steering. I’ve put over 1500 miles on this sled with the GSE power steering this year and all I can say is I love it. It works very well for me. Even at speeds approaching 100 mph it feels very comfortable and not overly sensitive (I thought it might cause the sled to be very sensitive or twitchy at higher speeds. I thought wrong) . I started with an on/off switch mounted on the handle bar where I could turn the power steering system on and off while I was riding. I removed the switch because it was not needed. From what I experienced riding this year I don’t see a need to turn the system off at higher vehicle speeds. I was very happy with the power steering system at slow speed’s or high speeds and anything in between.
I was able to shorten the limiter strap and adjust the front track shock preload to add more ski pressure. Now that I’ve added more ski pressure the sled literally is on rails. I cannot believe the difference and because of the electric power steering, I don’t have any extra effort required and my shoulder loves it. When we talk about steering effort, that is a very subjective term and what works for me may not work for someone else. I’ve had this sled on hard pack as well as loose snow and the steering is very responsive. Is it expensive? Hell yes... but what about snowmobiling is cheap?

Just put Travis MPS on my BTX Sidewinder!! Wow !!! It really made a difference I also have the 2020 spindles on my 2018!! The spindles keep the front end down and all the power to the snow and seem to handle much much better!! I love this sled for high speed riding, even though it’s a 154 track.
