Yamaha nytro xtx 2013
Hello, my nytro xtx 2013 is working super great but if I ride more than 15-30 minuts depending of the temperature, the sled just stop like if a relay or something in the electronic stop working like it is supposed to be. Do you know what should cause that ? I changed the stator, the ignition coils, the voltage regulator, the ecu, spark plugs, deplug the hand warmers and i don't have any error code. It needs to be something that short cut because it broke my ecu. Thank you for your help !

Does everything turn off like the gauge pod when it stalls, as if you hit the stop button? If so, that may mean an issue with the stop switch, the ignition switch or a loose connection somewhere in the main ignition.

No the engine stop, the lights too but the display stay open.

OK, that pretty much eliminates an issue in the kill switch/ignition switch circuits as those would turn off the display.

So you replaced the ECU? Have you rechecked the ECU's connector and pins? Why was it replaced?

After it stops, are you able to start it again? Do you hear the fuel pump priming when when you turn the key on again? Is it the newer red fuel pump relay that you have? Does it feel like it's the ignition/spark that stops (immediate) or the fuel is getting cut off (sputters to a stop)? If it won't restart, try using starting fluid in the intake to confirm a fuel problem.

It's difficult to diagnose something like this at a distance.

I replace the ecu because after trying many times to see what should do that it probably short cut somewhere and when i was turning the key the fuel pump was not working. I replace it and the fuel pump is now working. After it stop, i can restart but just doing a few meters before it stop again and if I wait 20-30 minuts before start it again a can ride it another 10 minuts before the engine bay become hot and stop again. It seems to me something electric but not because of the fuel because it stop suddently. Its really strange because the dealer around are saying me that it never happened to them a problem like that

Were the ignition coils stock Yamaha coils before this problem occured?

The coils were working really good before this problem happened and the one I try are comimg from a use venture that works good.

Please answer all of my questions.

Since the ECU didn't fix anything, I would put back the original just to be sure.

Good question. I would even go so far as to also re-install the original coils to see if it acts the same.

Its what i dis and still stop after 15-30 minuts.

And the pins of the ecu are in great condition and when it stop there is a relay that is doing click click a few times. But if I turn the key off and on after it stop, the fuel pump run.

Had to ask, as these things are super sensitive to the wrong coils.

Hey, is your battery dying? These will quit if they aren't charging.

Yeah but i tried back the coils i took from a venture and the venture is working great. So this is probably not the coils i think.

Mystère et boule de gomme! :D

I wonder if it's something with either the cam or crank sensor or the ignition pickup on the stator? It might short out only once it's hot?

Try starting it cold, let it warm up a little and, before it gets hot and shuts down, pull and tug at wires. Maybe as it warms up, a connection somewhere is flaky enough to affect it.

Another possibility is the fuel pump is dying and is not able to provide enough pressure the more it's working. Just because you hear the pump doesn't mean it's working well. Also the fuel pressure regulator might be letting off pressure. A fuel pressure test should be done when warm and at the point it usually stalls.

Need to confirm if it stops sparking when it happens or it's the fuel.
