Just stored my 07 Attak and had a good look around it. The headlight pod is cracked where the bolts are. One side is completely cracked and the other side is on the way. Also the RA cable and the rubber boot protecting it is broken.
Anyone else have similar experiences? They both look like weak points to me.
When changing the RA cable, do you leave the adjuster in the same position and just replace the cable or is there a trick to this. It would seem the shock dampening should be in the same position when it broke.

Instructions per Yamaha tech. Turn the screw in the shock all the way in. Turn the RA adjuster to maximum stiff. This allows the largest effective range of adjustment to the shock. My cable was broken as well, pulled straight out of the shock, through the nut. replaced the whole assembly, boot and all. I also reinforced the light gauge steel headlight bracket. Made it much more stable

i went trhough 2 cables already. i went to dealer a few weeks ago to get another and he said they were on backorder and would be in about a month(4/23).
seems weird that they are on backorder if there wasn't a problem with the design.

I wonder if we put the cable or wire in a stainless
brake line where the ice is if it will help. Just flare
both ends.

I broke my cable too but it was my own fault.
i let the track tension get too loose and it tore the cable out of the shock. also destroyed the nylon guard that is designed to shield the cable from damage.
oh well, i guess my lazieness just cost me 50 bucks

if you ask me...someone should make an adjuster just outside the shock body....for the few times it needs adjusting...I'd just assume go under and give it a fast twist...

Went to my dealer today as my cable and 4 wheels are shot,I;am getting the cable at dealer cost but wheels full price. Going to switch to poo wheels or some other type as I don't trust Yammie wheels. Need to do more research to find which ones are the best. Any imput!!!

Mine broke awhile back. I just left it for an off-season fix. I am ordering a new light pod as well as both mounting brackets (plastic) broke off.
