what cani do to lessen the engine braking all stock 09 xtx thanks

learn to live with it... youll get used to it and probably like it

If you install the 14.5mm rollers and Y-P-Y spring you'll eliminate 50%+ of the felt engine braking. I hated the excessive engine braking also. I've been very happy with this setup for the clutch.

I only notice it slightly..but I like it and have learned to use it in my favor.

braking

Has anyone used the 14.5 rollers and y/p/y spring in a high alt. setting ,say like 8-10000 feet? Im going to bighorns and being a flatlander i run the 14.5 and the y/p/y spring now and was just going to take out all my rivits in clutch and run it like that, :dunno:

what will the 14.5 rollers and ypy spring do for mid and high range
also what will the the top rpm be thanks

My top rpm is around 8900 rpm, this setup works great for trail riding in the woods. With the stock clutching I couldnt keep up with a 500 in the woods now they have trouble staying with me,pulling front limiter strap up 2 holes helped there to.One more thing I noticed is my hand warmers work better because I can stay on the thottle, not as much on and off.

IMO the 14.5/Y-P-Y setup pulls hard across entire range. It's noticeablly faster than stock clutching. I top out at between 8700-8800rpm in deep snow, but i'm running 1.75 BC track and geared down a couple of teeth. Can't comment on trail/hardpack rpm since I don't trail ride, I've never tested it. Being in Alaska, our 3000' elevation is the same conditions as lower 48s 8000' elevation as far as snow depths/terrain, never tested at higher elevations.
