hey all wanted to pick the collective brain trust. Was out last night for a quick ride. Made it into Coldwater and the high beam light flashed and the engine died. I had a code 81 flashing for a bit I have seen this in the past the grips are the issue and I have not sorted them out. I did replace or upgrade the series cable on them last year after they basically quit working.
While sitting when ythe key was tuned on thee dash light up but nothing else no fuel pump etc.
After sitting a couple of minutes the sled fired up and I rode the 40 km home with no issues. I have heard these (2007 Phazer GT) have had wiring harness issues and I am hoping this is not the first of these issues. The sled has barely 8000 km on it.
Anything I should check?
Thanks, Wayne

There should be 3 if it is updated.
Most likely that's the problem.

Ok will pull the cover and look. Had a buddy indicate there is a known issue with the fuel pump / injector relay freezing as well? Is there a bulletin on this and I assume this is not a free update either ...

Not sure what they'll do for the ground block if it's too late, but the updated relays are not free and they're solid state.

I had to pay for the ground block update two years ago. It's really not to hard to replace and I think the part was fairly cheap.

Anyone have a pic of new ground block and where it attaches? After reading this I'm sure mine was never done either, but I can't justify paying for a ground block, I used to make things like that at my old job so have access to all of that kind of wiring...In my garage
thanks

According to the service bulletin the ground wires 5&6 of the yellow bus connector get moved to their own ground connector, they must have higher-current circuits than the rest. Mine looks 100% and it was never updated. I can make a harness and ground 5/6 directly like the yamaha bulletin, for nothing. Very easy if you have any electrical experience. Awesome to be able to find out ANYTHING you need on this site!
