Engine oil capacity

I notice as my sled warms up the oil level in the sight glass rises above the top. After I reach operating temp, the oil sight glass is still full of oil. Seems it takes too long to resume normal inspection level.

Kinda seems weird to check the level after it's warmed up. If the level was too low I would not want to run the engine first??

Don't get the warm up event either! Lots of bubbles etc. form -elevating the level. I'm gonna stick with 1/2 a glass when cold!
