Engine sputters ???

My buddies nitro periodocly will sputter while riding. The check enginelight comes on and the yellow light flashes. He'll come to a stop and the lights go out. Any ideas ? It's a 2013 nitro all stock with around 1000kms but hasn't performed the first recomended break in oil change

Sounds like the tors system or tps sensor. Does it flash 84? Mines been doing ithe same thing come to a stop and it goes away had to adjust the throttle cable and it hasn't come back
