Don't know anything about AKQD steel but for $100 more I would go the SS route.

One of the bolts on the exh cam gear backed out and was hitting the valve cover and head. If I had run it much more, the bolt would have fallen down into the cam chain area. The threads on the exh cam are junk and need a new cam. Dealer commented that it didn't seem like the bolt on the exh cam gear were thread locked.
