started my sled yesterday. -10c or so. Sled has been sitting outside last 2 weeks not driven (no snow ;((.)
Started it up. Seem to run good but thought I heard a miss fire. Let it warm up for 10 minutes. Drove over to a friends about 5 km away. Turned it off. Went in garage. Came back out about hour later.
Sled wouldn't start and error code 43 flashing.
Anybody run into this code?
How did you fix it?

Note: I changed the fuel pump relay to red relay like everyone says to. ( after an hour of cursing) of course

Seems to work good for rest of day.
Do you have to clear old code after fixing it?

Just wanna make sure I got the right fix done is all.

Thanks guys

Update:

Went out this morning for a good tour AFTER installing the RED fuel pump relay.
Got into the tour 125km and then Nytro shuts off like someone hit kill switch.
BUT code 43 was flashing.
It started back up and work good for another 55km and then shut down again. Code 43 flashing again
It would start up run 10-15 sec. and then qwite again
Tore sled apart on trail trying to check relays even switching red one with the last one. Still same.
Put all back together and fired back up. Drove across road and bam code 43 again shut down.
And this was after 7 hours of steady driving.

Had to get rescued from side of road and trailed 2 hours home.
Could it accually be the fuel pump?

Try disconnecting your battery for a few minutes to clear the memory

Yes did that for 10 minutes while curseing at the relays.
Got it home put in garage. Tried again. Code 43 yet again. Then was doing something for a second or two. Tried it again and it fired right up. I'm stumped
I'm thinking it's time to go see the doctor.

How old is the battery? It could be borked but still able to start the sled. And the sled just dying all of a sudden, could be a wiring issue or short.

Battery is brand new.

Found the problem we think.

It was the starter relay. All corroded
Would roll over. But no fuel pump.
Just happen to be jiggling the starter relay and it start. Then stop over and over. Pulled starter relay out . Cleaned it really well . And back to its old self.

Cleaned all the other relays and fusses as well.

So in turn if you loose your fuel pump or get code 43 check the starter relay up by battery first and make sure it's nice and clean

Lot easier to work on and fix in heated garage
Let me tell you.

That would explain it since the fuel pump fuse is on there.

Yes so hopefully all is good now.

What I'd like to do in summer is try and move all the relay up and to outside of bulk head.
That way you just take side panel off and everything is right there. Fuses and relays.
Way easier then busting knuckles trying to get them from the nose

You likely are done for a long time messing with those relays. I have had the red ones for over three years and havent touched them since I put them in.

I haven't replaced any relays on my 09 yet . Which ones should I replace with the red ones ?
Thanks

That's good then. Pain in the arse.

I seen a pic or two of three red relays being used?
Only black one left was the lighting relay I beleave?
Is this true?

if it happen again check the harnes under the upper mount of the steering colone harnes rub there and cut the wire and show code 43

I only replaced the fuel pump relay. I have seen a couple guys replace all of them even though they were not causing issues. I think the fuel pump relay, because it's initially working only with battery power at 12V, has trouble overcoming the cold resistance of the internal spring whereas when it's running, and at 14V, there is no issue with the others. Because of the amps that the red one can handle, I'd be careful with those that run high amps like the load relay and the fan.
