Hey guys just wondering if you have had this problem with the heat shield and how to correct? Also does anyone know the thread about track skipping or ratchiting?

The heat shield was a problem for many of us. This will crack at the rivets where it is mounted. They are currently on back order (one of them is mine), but had it welded at the crack just in case it didn't come in.

If you have the original POS nipple track, it depends on how many miles you have, but the ratcheting should stop once it's stretched. Yammie specs on track tension are really tight so you should consult the owner's manual and verify that it's tight enough.

Track Slippage was bad for me this past weekend. I have no more heat sheild.

I don't understand it, there was no slipping at all for the most part, then boom, the last 30 miles going home was bad. It's like something broke but nothing did.

That's how my Camo behaved when it was new. I did a weekend in the Youpee and gradually adjusted th tension. I think heat cycles have everything to do with track stretching when they're new. The first day was warm a mushy, no ratcheting at all. The next day the snow was set up hard and 18* out, lotsa ratcheting!

Just need some snow and some miles, and Camo's will start to behave themselves.
