Just rode this sled for the first time and the inside ski lift was unbelievable. I checked the transfer rod and it was maxed out so I set it in the middle. I am also thinking of tightening up the front limiter strap. Any suggestions or comments on this would be appreciated. Also when people say to shim the stock skis what are they/you talking about? Any recomendations for Carbides on stock skis?

Tighten the transfer rods to minimal transfer and tighten the limiter straps by one notch and that should help.

Is that a good middle of the road setup or am I going to the other extreme taking the transfer rod all the way to minimum?

What are lookin for??? Transfor at max. / limiter down 1 = good grab and ski lift cut down.. u lookin for speed or steering ?? :exc:

set floats at 60 psi and try that. maybe thry are too high.

I have mine set to 37psi, yes 37psi. I have hit the biggest bumps and jumped a lot of roads and never hurt anything. The much lower front end rails the corners. Try it and see how you like it. RockerDan pointed me in the lower psi direction.

My RTX lifts the inner ski but it also plants the outside one and it handles very well this way. I guess it has to do with what you are comfortable with. I run the 12mm sway bar and that helped. Also as stated hear lower psi in the floats makes a difference in how it handles.

I rode the sled the first time last weekend. I loved it overall (power & sound are awesome)but had a tough time getting around the corners due to the inside ski lift. I don't want to loose traction by adjusting the transfer rod way down yet I also don't need to pull wheelies out of every corner. I guess I want it to corner OK yet still hookup. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the sled. My last sled was a 99 SRX that cornered like it was on rails so maybe there is just an adjustment period.
I know it sounds crazy but I haven't loved riding a sled just for the sound since my 92 Polaris RXL.

Play around with the transfer rod. Even adjusting it a couple of turns makes a difference. Also it is easy to adjust assuming it is not covered in ice and snow.

I'd go one line at a time. You'll be amazed what one line does! It will keep the skis down better

Try changing you riding style. I had the same problem when I first got my RTX. Cornering with a 4 stroke is COMPLETELY different then a 2 stroke. It's a different concept and until you try it, it may sound a bit strange. Use the braking effort from the 4 stroke engine. Do not just slow down coming up to a corner, but get COMPLETELY off the trigger. The weight transfers to the front and plants the skies. Half way through the corner you can grab some HP. I very rarely use the normal braking system to corner.
