I replaced my donuts (2006 apex) on the exhaust manifold to the y pipe, when I re-installed the clamps, I tightened them down as tight as possible, and they still have movement. Are they stretched out or is this the way they are supposed to be, or do I need new clamps. I"ve asked around and heard differing opinions. 5700 miles. Please help. Thanks, Jim.

You need to trim down (grind down) the spacers on the clamp just a little.

Do the above, but make sure the edges of the clamp aren't contacting the pipe. Otherwise you will have a sawing effect. Or go buy new clamps, there not cheap but not expensive either. When I did mine I purchased new clamps as these posts did not exsist at the time. The clamps stretch and form to the pipe under the extreme heat. It's actually not a bad thing to check once a year even if you don't put a ton of miles on. At least see if the clamps are tight and the donuts are in tact.

I ground down the sharp edges of the clamp with a Dremel tool for that purpose.
