Merida,
remove the back plastic that wraps around the rear from one end
of runner board to other. To do this there is 4 bolts inside the tunnel
that requires a 10mil deep socket and 1/4' ratchet they are a little
hard to get at but once you see what i'm talking about you'll know
if your RX1 is a shorty your ok. Then you'll need to release the 2
nuts at the rear that attach to the exhaust can they are like a "J"
hook. Then you can lift the seat up enough to put something under
to support it. Now you will see that the exhaust covers are held on
with 4 philips screw "STOP" take a good philips screw driver that will
fit snug in the screws and give them a good hard tap with a hammer
to break the thread lock because Yamaha must use Godzilla to install
all their philip screws and now your off to the races.
Good luck
