I am considering buying bergstrom triple point carbides for my slydogs, anyone have experience with this? Do the triple points get buried in the ski savers and not work???

I have Slydogs and just bought 6" Bergstrom Triple points with the ski-savers. Unforntunately, with the lack of snow I can't comment on how well they work. The Triple Points should only be "snug" tight, so they aren't pulled completely up into the groove of the ski-saver. And no, the actual carbide is no where near being "buried" - they look quite aggressive actually.

Re: experience with slydogs and ski savers with 6" trip
I have that set up (trails) and got back from white plains and Lake Gogebic after 420 miles of riding. On hard pack they were great. However on the pweder I had a a lot of push when turning. The Friday Lake Gogebic got 6inches of new snow and we shot out on the lake and when all the other guys in my group with stock skis and woody duels 8' made tight turns. Mine took considerable effert and even then it pushed. I am going to turn the front shocks down two turns to see if that helps. Off the trail they float much better, but had pushed bad in turns. That Friday I had to slow down considerably from what I was driving like Weds and Thursday. Even on the trails, where there was a lot of snow my sled pushed in the corner and required more effort to make the turn or would do some darting. On the hard packed trails there was zero issues.
Monster attack has the same skis and set up. Hopefully, he can jump on here as well. I love the ski's but have to get them to turn better, so I will apply more pressure up front. Plent of room for the triples with the ski save too.
Hope that helps...

Ski savers are a must on the Apex to help cure the darting. Also setup is very important also.
Setting your toe-in & toe-out.
1. With your sled sitting in the garage push on rear and front bumper and allow sled to come back up to height on it's own. This will set the sled at a normal "ride height" so you can set the toe-in/toe-out.
2. Measure from the front of the ski where the rib ends to the other ski where the rib ends from outside to outside.
3. Now measure from the rear of the ski where the rib ends to the other ski where the rib ends from the outside to outside.
4. Your measurement from front to rear should be at "0" (also known as neutral) or 1/8" narrower in the front (toed-in).
5. If you have to adjust them simply undo the 12mm nut & bolt on the tie rod and also loosen the 14mm jam nut. Adjust in 1/2 turn increments until your skis are set as described in #4.

Front spring pressure is critical as well. On an RTX set front shocks at 65 psi with front end off the ground. On GT & ER try loosening off front springs several turns at a time as stated above.

I have an apex gt and last year i ran close to 2500 miles with the slydogs. when i first put them on the set up was no ski savers and 6 inch carbides. they did dart. i then put on the ski savers with bergstrom 4 inch triple points and shims. it eliminated the darting and the skis worked just as advertised. as srx spec has stated setup is critical on the sled. i took the weight of the front end and loosened the front springs till they rattled and then turned the adjuster one turn. 1/8 inch toe in. this was with an ice ripper track. this year i,m running a hacksaw track with 144 studs in the middle so i,m using 8 inch triple points if we ever get snow.

I ran 4000 miles last season with slydog trail skis, skisavers and 6 inch triple points. Also ice ripper track. Great set up for overall riding. Was set up per Allan Ulmers suggestions as above. Very little darting, good control, easy steering. Have same setup on 07 Attak GT. Zero miles.

Have found best performance at "0" or 1/8" toed-in with the Slydog skis only and this applies to putting them on any Yamaha model, not just the Apex. Other skis may require different settings.
