Just wondered how hard it was to put a rear heat exchanger on a XTX? what needed to be changed, where you tee in at, do studs matter. and how it works?

I put the rear kit in mine a couple of weeks ago. I ordered the MTX kit from the dealer, not a huge job, an afternoon will do it. Everything you need comes in the kit, clamps, rivets, pipes, cooler. I don't think studs would matter as the kit mounts to the side of the tunnel out of the way.

The Yamaha MTX heat exchanger kit works well. Since installing it in my 08 RTX I haven't had the temperature light come on at all and I've rode in very poor conditions with other Yamahas that had problems. I've seen it priced as low as $275 for the complete kit. Kit part #8HA-124A0-00-00
