How many km are people getting our of the factory carbides. Now I know this has some bearing on how many highways you cross but just wondering when I should think about replacement.

I only got 500 miles on stock carbides on my apex, upgrade to slim Jim Dooley or another option. I didn't even waste my time on the vector and upgraded when it was new!

Okay. Time to check it guess. I have 1900 km but still have good bite (no cornering issues). But I will take a peak.

Factory carbides are junk.Run sharper bars and you will get carbides that last for 1000,s of miles.

I'm also in the 250 mile range myself. I went with the Bergstrom Triples & never looked back, talk about a quality product. For my sled & riding they're the perfect carbide.

After my first couple new Yamahas I decided not to even try them. Pull them off new now and install good ones.
