I seem to be having a hard time finding what I am looking for. How much h.p. is a factory turbo going to add to a viper for flat land riding. My wife wants to upgrade. Loves her 800 doo for speed and handling. Doesnt like my attak (heavy feel). Would like to put her on a power steering one but she is being stuburn. I know her next one will be 4 stroke. She was leaning towards a 1200 doo until most we talk to says a 800 will pull away and she said she doesnt want less then what she has. So has me thinking about a viper with turbo. Any input and thanks.
 
No factory turbo on a Yamaha and any 4 stroke that will hang with a 800 e-tech will be way to heavy.

It is a factory approved accessory for higher altitude Mtn and XtX models. Just buy the MPI or hurricane kits for under $3000.00 and you are good to go.

Find the right dealer who knows the warranty wording to a T which is Turbos or other accessories do not void the warranty as long as they did not cause the problem or failure.
 
Is it top end she is looking for or up to 90 mph? You can get vipers and nytros to hang with the Etecs. They will not out top them but they can beat them corner to corner.

Might have her drive one first. They are a different animal to two strokes. They have so much more torque they feel more powerful.

A 190 turbo though will eat any stock sled out there for sure. The turbo cat is a slug and a stock nytro can take them out of hole and up to about 60 mph.
 
Top end. She likes to stay with me on my attak. I know she will beat me in the woods. She already does. I loose her on the straights. But getting to top end important. She said she noticed her blizzard seems slow this year. I dont notice it...just notice it tops out around 105 but doesnt seem slugish to me. But I have only 100 miles on it or so...she has the other 4000 on it so taking her word for it.

I was under the understanding that the turbo option had the ability for flat land upgrade. Whatever I do I do not want the biggest and badest turbo...reliable over screw with anyday if you know what I mean. 90% trail ride is what we do. Even thinking about apex with p.s. if I can get her to stop being stuburn and try one. But then I will probably want one too...lol

trying to make it north one more time this year but not looking good. Dealer in northwoods said no problem on a demo.
 
A viper with 190 is likely what she wants then. Just buy the viper and buy the mpi or hurricane kit for good value. No messing. Just ride. Tons of go and she will destroy you on the straights and corner to corner.

Its not the sled that is too heavy as a Viper isn't.....loose some weight big guy! :tg:

Ok, am I reading this correctly, your saying no turbo Viper or any turbo four stoke would beat a 800 E Tec?

Because you have no clue. I smoked a 800 e tec, and he had a pipe and can y pipe and PCV. And from take off, or from 30mph and 40mph and from a dig again I smoked him. He didn't give any excuses he said, well Tim your sled hauls #*$&@ and he was very upset. Because they told him he would be the fastest on the snow. Wow did he get a kick in the #*$&@ after those races. And it was not even really close! So maybe you should do a little checking yourself.

The Viper is really not that heavy and with a turbo it is very fast! Man even my Nytro with pretty much every bolt on I could get was faster than a 800 E Tec and I was only maybe 20 hp over stock. The E tec might be a great motor, but is prett much the slowest 800 out right now. Compared to the 800 cat and the 800 rush. Although very close. All three 800's are simply out classed in a race vs. a Turbo Viper. PLAIN and SIMPLE!
 
He had a very good running nytro so I think he knows what he's talking about , so instead of bashing someone maybe you should ask what he meant by that with a e-mail or a PM !

You guys have 20,000 wrapped up in your sleds just to beat a stock 800 that cost 13,000 , to each there own I guess !
 
Well Nytro I guess you have a point but we were just being funny :jump:

besides that he had plenty of time to edit or explain. I did not build mine to beat $13,000.00 sleds I built it to beat everything out there ;)!

Besides my mother never accused me of being rational :o|

I have now signed up for sensitivity training ( hello my name is Yamadog and I am an alco.... wait wrong class)
 
Whats wrong with getting her another 800 Etec? She will love that rmotion upgrade from the old Blizzard. If my wife rode like that and obviously knows what she wants, then get her what she wants. Happy wife, happy life...you won't regret it. I don't wanna be in your shoes when she is upset with your decision of what she should ride......we all know how this story ends...
