I was hoping for a something more dramatic for Yamaha's 40th. A 180HP yellow and black apex would have done the trick. I like my 06 gt but i'm not crazy about it. I was really hoping they would come out with something worth upgrading for. I hate to say it but a 2008 Mach z may be in the cards.

Ive been trying to figure out yamahas color packages for years... I came to the conclussion you just have to make your own sled..
I agree.
Seems like the other OEM's are way ahead of the game on color/GFX packages.. escpecially Cat.
I'm not into the retro look. It's ugly.
Retro is one reason I won't buy a new Mustang.. looks nice on the outside.. but them gauges.. they stop making crap like that for a reason.. UGLY!
I have a black SRX (allthough the blue is perfectly fine), candy red RX-1 (actually a nice color) and a blue Attak (can't go wrong with Yamaha blue).
IMO, white and red don't mix.. but that's just me.
I see alot of pix of mod'ed sleds on here that make me gag.. but again.. just my opinion. But kudo's for those who do it since Yamaha won't.

I too am disapointed. I love my 06 attak, but feel the rear suspension is its weak link. At about $170lbs with gear I absolutley crush the rear end when I ride it hard in good sized bumps. I have tried all the adjustments and they help but not much more. Over the summer I am going to send the shock out for revalving. I was hoping Yamaha would come out with an Attak with more horsepower and a much more aggresive rear suspension. Looks like I am keeping the 06 for another season.

I was hoping for the same thing STINKFINGER! But an 08 mach z??? you'll have change your name to limp mode, and get ready to spend your saturdays drinking coffee at your dealer.

mach z is a downgrade & not much faster than what you have. for the diff in trading, your better off getting a turbo or SC.
besides that the XP chassy 800 should be right there with the mach Z rev chassy, making it lose value before it hits the snow.
no matter what you get there will something faster the next year.

Yamaha is never going to change a model "the apex" like that mid stream. the sooner you guys come to grips with that the better.

white and red is fine. it has been racing coulors for years. just wait for the replacement for the apex, you might get what you asking for, they cant get all the goodis at one time :ORC

Overall I like the new stuff. I would like to have seen a 128 inch track, but.... The one thing that bothers me is no standard Apex in the US. You either have to give up the mono and go to the RTX or spend significantly more on the Olins. I'll be keeping my 06 Apex ER but if not I couldn't buy another Apex with only those 2 options. I'd have to go Nytro.

the apex is only 2 years old guys! give 'em a chance here. (3 year cycle) the vector changed this year, they gave us the phazer last year, the new nytro this year...

For most of the US, just go down to the local dealer and buy the "standard Apex". They got plenty of'em on the floor. I really think the lack of the standard model in the 2008 lineup is a concession to the Yammie dealers, so the hold-overs can be "flushed" from the inventory. JOMO

I think you'd be crazy buying an 08 mach in the old rev chassis, something has to be up brp sleeve (mach x 1200 in the revxp chassis)

look at yammie's history.... (although now that the four strokes are here theyve varied this a bit)
first year of new release.....next year work some problems out....third year...final improvements and a little freshening...maybe throw a new model in the mix....
fourth year is when to see something major..
my bet is 2009 will be the year for something bigger....
