Just about to drop some hard earned cash on a 2011 SE! Will be hard to give up the old girl as she has been very good to me. Have absolutely loved my 06 ER but I think Yamaha was thinking directly of me when they decided to put EPS on the 2011. I'm 5ft6 on a good day and 185 wet so tossing around my Apex on tight trails has always been a chalange. One ski in the air is the norm for me. My ridding buddy has a Ski-doo 800xp and when the going gets rough or tight I struggle @ times. Not complaining, just after 300km days it takes me 2 days to recover. I'm hoping the power steering is just the ticket. My only complaint about the SE is the lack of any BlingBling grafixs. It is very plain. Maybe some custom grafix's are in my future. Hopefully all the reports are correct about the difference! In 2004 I bought a Warrier SE and absolutely hated it. Just too long and heavy for tight trails, but all the reports were glowing on this machine. Big suprise! Traded in 2005 for an Rx1 shorty, loved it but got a lemon as everything broke. My 2006 ER was a pleasure from the beginning. I'm hoping the 128 track isn't too long for the twisties but I think the EPS and new front skiis and suspension will make up for the extra length. By the way this site has been a tremendous help with all the little issues we have to deal with and I like to thank all who contribute. :rocks: Wish me luck!

im the oppsite 6ft2 and way to heavy!!! very anxious to ride the new se, after 300 klicks im also burnt.
i hope its worth the money, i havent had the luxury to test ride the se.
what worries me is the mega float suspension compared to the ohlins adjustables, the ohlins is not to rough nor to soft.
let me know when you place your order so i can double check the price.

summer sucks!!!

I checked out the SE monday night at the sled show in Kanata and I like the look of my 06 GT better!!! A lot of good features but a lot of things that i'm not sure on!!! I love my GT. so I think i'll wait awhile :o| GOOD LUCK ON YOUR NEW SLED ;)!

I'm a bigger boy and I liked the ride better on the Apex versus the ApexSE. But I would imagine if I could play with the air on the SE I would have liked it better. I was told they were setup for someone about 175 lbs. Overall they both were great.

You going to love the se.I personally like the stealth look.Too many graphics get's to gaudy.I guess everyone has different tastes

First thing I do is remove decals so it doesn't look like a cheap chinese toy. plus I like people to be confused on make, model and year. its funny how new graphics soon become old, making it look old and common. simply removing them makes it look like a new model

Cat Hunter, I agree 06 GT looks a lot nicer. I'm not looking for any Crazy Flashy grafix, just a little more POP would be nice. I also checked them out in Kanata on Mon. By the way where do you ride. We ride mainly Montpellier/Mont Laurier/Gracefield areas. Homeplaya so far have been quoted $15,800 for SE from 2 Dealers. Lot of money but pretty good discount I think.

Guys you really need to ride a new one, there is nothing about your 06 that even comes close to the newsled. It rides better, has more power, better weight transfer( by far), better wind protection, unreal handwarmers, better seat, better riding position, the steering is unreal, unreal, unreal, the drone at 25 to 30 is way reduced, theres no engine braking, etc, etc, etc. I put 115 miles on three different sleds and they were flat awsome. I have had a 2006 apex gt, 2007attack gt, and a 2009 apex gt and they dont come close to this new sled. The SE is unbelieveable comfort and handleing, it feels like a fan cooled sport sled, really.

You hit that on the head! The New apex is an unbelievable ride! Twice the fun with half the effort! We had a good chance to ride them on the TotallYamaha demo ride in march and we were able to ride and compare the models. They also had a 2010 Apex in the group. You could tell the difference when you jumped back on the 2010. The 2011 is hands down an unbelievable sled and will not dissapoint anyone!

homeplaya, could you please add your location to your profile. Thanks! site rules. :Rules:

I should also add that this sled does everything yamaha say except,,,, I still found the skis to dart pretty good in soft snow, number six in line. Having said that these skis are the best turning skis I have ever had in over 40 years of riding. These things turn when and whereever you want them to. they would take input 2 or 3 times in a turn and never upset the sled. I also never picked an inside ski in the entire 115 miles run. There were many, many places where my 2009 would have picked a ski but this thingstays way flat. Some Cobraheads, or other aftermarket runners should take care of the darting because these skis are to good to take off, which is what I usually do. If you cant ride one just look around at thos ewho have and they will all be saying the same things.

I think the only real disappointment on the new sled was the reduction to 9.2 gals in the gas tank. I put 5000, to 7000 miles on each year and spend alot of time in Canada, and sometimes fuel is an issue I was really hopeing for 10 to 11 gal. tanks on the new ones but you cant have everything. If we cant have more fuel onboard then maybe a couple of miles on a gallon more from the motor would be just as good, maybe next time.

I'm 45 minutes west of Ottawa across the river from Arnprior.I ride in the Quyon, Shawville,Ladysmith area and the odd time to Mont Laurier!!! Got a quote on a SE today for $15,500. plus $200. shipping with no trade!!! He also said I was his only call this year, so I guess not to many people shopping. :yam:

The ones I rode had just come from Quebec. They Had Snotrackers on them.
No hint of darting, no ski lift. Drive it with your thumb and Pinky finger.

Awesome.
