finally hot hands..but 81 code***solved***

Has anyone figured this problem out yet!!!!! Man, just got back from a trip and thee old hands took a beating at - 15 C. Anything we can hook up and still keep the stock control!!!

I've had the 06 bars on mine for about 2 weeks & they work great,it probably will void you warrantee if something should happen ,but at least mine hands are warm.m2c And yes the bars are slightly different & you will have to install the hand guard brackets upside down so they wont rub on the tank.

This must only be on some sleds as the only warm thing on me was my hands. Had to turn down the warmers. My hands ussally get cold. As for my nuts thats another story. Just wondering if anyone put on the deflectors??

TTT....what is the latest?

I went for a ride yesterday. It was only for about 20 minutes (After warming up the sled) in deep snow. I was on the throttle a lot! I stopped, immediately pulled off my glove to see how warm the grip was....NOTHING!!!!...even with both on high!

Mine seem to come and go... For a while my grips will be warm (not hot) and a few minutes later they will feel cool, all when riding the exact same way, during the same ride... I noticed this last night when I was doing some ditchbanging, it was 5°F.

My experience had absolutely nothing to do with wind protection,my hands were comfortable when the grips were warm and cold when the grips were cool.

My issue has been logged with my dealer also...

Mine are the same as yours........same when riding in guantlet covers.

thats what mine were doing, but now with the hotgrips the heat stays on all the time even at idle

i dont see why not,if it doesnt work out its easy to change...but if your in the stock wiring you will still be limited to certain rpm when its on and off

the reason why these grips dont work at idle is because they eed the voltage to run other parts of the sled. once riding it puts out enough voltage to warm them. the rpm is right around 3500 when they make full voltage. it sucks i know.

Any idea why the actual heat they put out varies while riding conditions stay the same?

that i dont know but ill do some research and call yamaha tech today.
that is a good ? though

I had the same experience this weekend. At times my thumb warmer got deadly hot and other times my hands actually werent cold for once and I coud actually feel the heat (warmth at best but better at last). Then other times it was back to nothing as its been the first 3 rides of the year....
