So after several attempts to buy a sled i finally bought an 06 attak! appears very clean and well kept. actually spoke to the guy (mechanic)from Poynette wi that maintained the it for the prior owner. routine maintenance every year including greasing jack-shaft/speedo/wheel bearings/oil change etc. Also has brand new track and HID lamps, SLP skis with dual runners. this was all performed 10 mos ago with about 500 miles since. been lurking here for a while and went through many maintenance tips and i think ill let oil change slide since only 500-600 miles since.
Couple ?'s read alot about junk hand-warmers but running the sled with them on high i noticed they were warming up but nowhere near as hot as my older Yammi's but the thumb got hot right away, are they really that bad? I also noticed 2 leads with rubber covers that I'm guessing is the remote place to charge the battery?! I'm also hoping the ski upgrade works well. obviously I couldn't resist cracking the throttle in my 150 yard back lawn and good grief it appears scary fast! cant wait to get this thing out on the snow!!!

You will love that sled, I had one previously. The SLP skis will help you a lot, I had them as well. Yes, the battery leads are visible under the handwarmers suck, worst I ever had. You will need the Yamaheater for sure. Lots of upgrades you can do to suspension and this will handle very well.

Congrats on the new purchase. The hand-warmers in stock form are RPM sensitive and will not heat up unit its above 3000 rpms of I remember correctly. I would get a Yamaheater and then you will always have warm hands. As far as the skis, those should work fine for starts. Oil change, I agree, I would run it as is.

The Yamaheater was the first mod I made to my Apex. Darn near a "must have" on these earlier year machines. Money well spent for sure. The only problem I'm sure you'll run in to is sore cheeks from smilin' so darn much when you mash that flipper and hear that engine purr (roar)!

If you are going with the yamaheaters I would also suggest a newer set of bars with the integrated hooks that have the heater in the hook also. Baby fingers will thank you, I think they started with them in 07. Depending on your weight you might be in for a shock revalve.
