Well it took about 10 miles to know that I was going to Really Like my New 04 Warrior. After reading several posts on here in the last 2 weeks I didnt know what I was in for. So many posts about handling issues and over heating problems etc... So, the only changes I made to the sled was to pull the limiters up one inch, and install Simmons skis and set the toe. Note: I run simmons on all my sleds so it was getting those no matter what. The motor was Box Stock, didnt have time to make any changes before this ride. Didnt adjust the track or belt, clutching was all stock. Put on 150 miles friday night in Northern WI. Tight twisty trails, and several rail beds. The sled ran great from the first turn of the key. Cornered VERY Flat....Was riding with a 04 F6 SnoPro that was up on one ski 90% of the time while I was staying right behind him driving through the corners with both skis on the ground. Then when you hit the straight away...Awesome Pull from 30-60 and then again from 60-90. With 25 miles on I had a good chance to open it up. 2-3 miles wide open. 122 mph and 10,100-10,200. Again, kind of surprised based on everyone saying how long it took there motor to actually turn over 10K. Then...First gas stop with 86 miles on. The 800 twin poo was getting very low on gas. So, he filled up and took 9.5 gal (9.0mpg) and I took 5.2 gal (16.5mpg) LOL....KickAss. I should also mention the F6 was using about a quart of oil every 60-70 miles!!! Saturday we trailered into the UP and put on 250 miles of some greta smooth trails and some not so great trails that had not been groomed yet. Suspension works Great! Only bottomed it a hand full of times on some real big stuff. Only thing thats going to take a little getting used to is the stand up riding on the trail and the engine braking. A 2" Rox Riser would help alot. I just feel like I could go over the bars if I'm not carefull. This got better as the day went on and I learned to not back off the throttle all the way, just enough to slow down, but not enough to get the braking. Now...I will say I like the braking for fast trail riding IF I can stay seated. It transfers the weight to the front end very nice at just the right time to rail through the turn. Get it out in the powder while standing and carving and the braking is not even an issue. Now...the racing
It was just the 3 of us riding, 02 XC800, 04 F6 and myself. Raced the xc800 3-4 times. Not even close. I dont have much transfer dialed in and he also has a 1.25" track with studs. I would beat him off the line and pull away quickly. The F6 was dead even or slightly behind the 800 so I didnt even race him. After 400 miles of riding it......I dont think I will do a damn thing to the sled this year. No clutching, no filters, no evac kit, Nothing! Put 87 octane in it, turn the key and have fun. Simplicity is very nice.

Great post and it is good to here someone coming off a SRX is making no changes other than the skis. I had to laugh about the oil and gas milage. I remember riding last year with a couple of 700 Poos. We stoped for gas after 90 miles. I don't know how many gallons, but I do remember how much we paid at the resort. I paid $13.75 while the Poo guys paid $25 each!

Hey SRXules I have an 04 Warrior with 2800 miles on it and I love it also!
Many similar reports as you have riding with other sleds. The only thing I'm most interested in is how to get it to corner better?
So what exactly did you do to yours to improve this?
THANKS IN ADVANCE

Stock bars on a 03 are 10mm... on 04' they are 11mm.. I skipped trying the 12mm bar and went strait to the 13mm bar..
It only costs $89 from pioneer performance..
