Im back on a yamaha my other yamaha was a viper i loved the quality of that machine !
I did a total of 80 miles this afternoon i did add snowtrackers and 96 studs down the middle the rear shock were revalved and the rear spring changed from the previos owner also a clutch kit came with the sled it tops out at 10500 rpm's and i had it at 114 mph today .
Now lets get back to what i thought of the machine !
WOW ! ;)!
Its real smooth and doesnt feel like your doing 70 mph like the old zr. Its real easy to ride very little inside ski lift but nothing carzy (has 13mm sway bar)
No stinky two stroke smoke, A great cruiser and im very suprised it was also good in tight corners or twisty trails much better than my friends attak (cant control that machine ) Maybe the extras on my machine tame the beast.
Its a nice middle ground from my sit down old ZR vs the rider foward machines like some other sleds out their to me the rider foward machine are a little bit of an over kill .
Im very very pleased with my purchase and the ZR 900 felt like my 1977 everest compared to my Apex.
Again WOW ! ;)!
Can i use the left over 16 litres of synthetic two stroke oil for my boat ?

You got a great sled there Quebec#1.I rode with Todd for most of the miles on that sled.It has been well maintained with 0 issues.

Gauntlets on the bars make the warmers feel like they actually work!!!Congrats on the new ride.Tom

Gary, glad to see your enjoying the new sled! I did 215 miles yesterday in northeast vermont alone and it was great. I assume those trails are by your house, they look perfect. We'll hook up in march, call me. Also 114 is about 100 on gps. I had that sled 125 on railbed and was 109 gps. Conditions make a huge difference. Had my 1200 106 yesterday and was 99 on gps. Have fun!

Thanks Tood and yes they are trails close to home that were 10 on 10 yesterday afternoon.
Im sure in right conditions i could get a little more on top, the snowtrackers do rub out maybe 3 to 5 mph and maybe the studs another 2 mph ?
Still waiting for the inspection papers in the mail to plate the machine so no weekend riding until i get the plate on the machine.
Hey the drive belt on belt guard is that a new one ?
Thanks Tood and lets hook up In march. Gary...

Hey does that windshield give you descent wind protection? i have the red chrome low on my RTX and it's frigid. Looks like a better design. Even though it's only an inch higher.

My hands are still cold ! But im sure it does keep them warmer than your windshield.
I have a myth about a taller windshield being colder on certain designs than a lower one.
One like mine hits the wind and turbo's the air stream right at your neck and face ! A lower one would hit your chest more and thats were im never cold !
I wish they could test my theory through a wind tunnel ! :brrr:
