just talked to bruce at pioneer performance and he will have a new idler wheel lowering kit available for next fall for the apex xtx. kit will include 6 machined brackets to lower the 4 existing back idler wheels 2 1/2 millimeters, kit will also include 2 new small idler wheels for the rear section. I think this kit along with the dupont sliders will solve the problem, so for now guys just change the stock ones to get you through the season, the dupont sliders are on national backorder and wont be available till mid april from most dealers.

I made a kit similiar to what you are talking about last year. I have about 1000 miles on the slides since the kit was installed and not much signs of wear. I will try to find the pictures and upload again.

I still can't believe that Yamaha hasn't designed a sled that doesn't wear sliders...been a problem since the four strokes came out.

or you can just buy the oversize idler wheels (6) now from royal distributing for $26.99 each with bearings and use the stock mounts. they work great.

Rails Cracking?
I have been interested in the wheel lowering kit solution for my 2007 Attak GT but have been reluctant as I am still under Yamaha extended warranty until April 2012.
Has anyone had an issue with rails cracking due to extra stress from having the wheels extended from the wheel mount kit?
