Does anyone know if the float bowls are a warrany item from Yahamah. My dealer told me that they are not going to warranty any out. They have been told my Yamaha that the cutting out will not happen unlest the sled is pointed verticle.. I myself do not want to take the risk of it cutting out being we ride in the mountains all the time.. Is there any one that I can contact that will be able to help me out?
Thanks Again

My dealer did mine for free also added a carb coolant stutoff for those warm days
Mine were warrantied. I can put you in touch with my dealer if you would like.
P.S. It does not have to be "vertical". Unless vertical is anything past 30 degrees!!!

Spray please get me the info for your dealer, I would love to chat with him. If anything I can chat with him and he can call my dealer and get this situation taken care of.
Thanks
Thanks
Talk to jim at Hinson's Power Sports. 208-634-7007. They aren't to tough to install so maybe he can get them for you and mail them to you.

Mine goes in the dealers shop tomorrow for the fix 8) . First I have to get the skid back together. I was trying to load her in the back of the truck and the track sucked up one of the kid's stiro-foam floatation devices for the pool; this in turn grabbed my shop dolly for under the track and pulled it up in between the track and tunnel. Don't ask me how but it did . Wedged my dolly in the front of the tunnel and smoked the belt before I could let off the trottle  . luckly there wasn't enough clearance to get by the drivers and rip the front exchanger off  . I had to drop the rear skid to get it back out.
Sorry to rant on but
I figured you guys would find this a little humorous. I do now that I know there is no damage other than maybe to much friction on the belt.

Wow , Blgs that pretty much sucks lol At least you dont have any damage like you say except for a belt... That is way cheaper than a heat exchanger. You dealer was able to take care of the bowls without too much trouble? Let me know what you did? Mine says that yamaha isnt doing anything until you experience the problem... If that happens in the steep and deep that we ride around here... I will be needing a new sled.... Guess I better make sure the insurance premium is payed up....

My first time into my new enclosed trailer the ski got lassoed by the wire harness for the tail ramp I made it in the trailer but the RX didn't, Ripped the wire harness out, it didn't hurt the sled but spent the rest of the day fixing the trailer. Anyway Sportland in cle elum did my float bowls

no i didn't but I am not much of a bump rider, My major problem was in the steep down hill I lost power a few times and I quit the steep stuff my sled runs great now. I also had a problem with vapor loc, when I stopped to shovel snow on the sled to cool it down after you restarted it would travel 10 yards and die, added a ski doo shut off to the carbs and I think Spray said he did the same thing, We had very bad snow conditions last year so it was a contributing factor But I ride with alot of different sleds and I was the one usally holding up the pac

I talked to my dealer about the problem last winter after the first time I experienced the cut out. He was allready aware of it and had ordered 16 sets of carb bowls for every RX-1 mtn sold out of his store even if he hadn't gotten a complaint from all of us yet. They are also taking care of the screw for the tank cover wearing through the hood and re-doing my rear skid mounting brackets that yamaha has sent notices out about.
If I was you, I would tell the dealer that the last ride out it cut out on a steep hill (unless you have told him different) or wait for the first sign of snow and complain about it and force him to order you another set of carb bowls. Either that or find a different dealer to purchase a sled from next time and let him know it.

I have experienced this when jumping. As soon as I land there is a slight hesitation like a 2-stoke sounds like when it bogs out.

Hey Spray thanks for the info on calling Jim down there at Hinsons, he sounds like a very very busy guy. I finally was able to talk to him today, he said there isnt any problems that my dealer should incur with yamaha on getting those bowls replaced. I then talked to my dealer today and got the cold shoulder from him. He wont have to worry about me buying any other sleds from him. In the past 3 seasons I have purchased over $19,000 in sleds from him. He will not be getting any of my business anymore. I pretty much got torqued at him and called the dealer in Anchorage and they told me to bring my sled in and they will fix it with no questions asked. So needless to say my sled will be there with them on Saturday. Thanks for all the help ... sure glad this forum is here... what would we guys do without it. I usually check it everyday.
