My brother was in UP yesterday riding 2 tracks in 3 foot powder. He has a 15 Apex XTX BC 1.75. Other rider on a 17 SW XTX 141 1.6 track. Apex always leads, never got stuck (SW stuck twice), and running boards were clean all day (SW running boards packed with snow). Apex still a beast of a machine...no response necessary. Only wanted to bring a smile to Apex Nation.

So you are saying the " Arctic Cat" isn't all that its cracked up to be. Thats good to know because I have been slowly looking for a newer 1.75 Apex. :worth:

Yep....my 2013 Apex XTX is a weapon......Awesome trail breaker or fresh snow blaster. And it will do it for thousands of miles on its stock $80 belt that never wears out !!
The Curves help keep the nose up in the loose snow. I'd love to swap in a Back country 1.75 or Ice ripper 1.6....the 1.25 original ripsaw blows in loose snow but rips on the hardpack.

The powertrain/clutching/durability/quality of the Apex is stellar. The XTX is the only version of the Apex to have IMO.

After a WRP seat/Curves and a Lake effect riser the sled is a different animal....all for the better!

The 1.75BC makes the XTX extremely capable in the fresh powder. Although you feel a little chatter on hard pack trails. But not enough to bother too much.

I wonder would I could get a new but 1 year old 2017 XTX 1.75 for. If I could do $11,500 I would buy it. I wish they had a "what the dealer paid" website somewhere. I would love to know.

Well, if you can only find a XTX (i.e. 1.25" track), I have the 146" Back Country 1.75 track as well as the 7 tooth drivers I took off my 2018 XTX 1.75. I haven't listed it yet since I was initially thinking of holding onto to it and interchanging tracks when the conditions would permit but to do that, I would probably need to buy a new drive shaft and install the 7 tooth drivers to make the swap easier but am now leaning towards selling to recoup the cost of the Ripsaw II track and 8 tooth drivers I installed on my 18 XTX.

I do love mine. It's a beast outta the hole.

Just putting this out-there before the Apex head swells up to much. ;)

In these situations, were its not just a matter of squeezing the flipper in a drag race, I say the driver makes a big difference. One of my friend, driving an Apex, swapped sleds once and jumped on his old 1999 Polaris just to prove he could keep up. Fully studded and being in the twistis forest trails he broke a sweat but did keep up right on our back bumper. I coulnd't believe it but the guy can drive anything extremely well.

My old sxr700 was damn good in the trails too. I could hang with anyone. But after a 3-4 day trip you'd need a day to sit in the recliner and heel up. No so much with the Apex.
