Have been reading on this site since oct. Picked up my 07 RTX ER on oct. 28th
first of all I think its the best forum on the internet
second thanks for all the info guys
my question is about the fox floats, I love them
I am not worried about what psi to run
I want to know if these psi's guys are running are with the front end ON the floor (or ground) or OFF the floor???

I happen to run them at 65 psi off the floor, when set back down I am just shy of 100 psi, this is just the way I like them, I can really bang the ditches like this.

any input much will be of great thanks

most guys set them OFF the floor. Anywhere between 55-65 seems to be pretty popular.

I believe that you loose 5 psi when you unscrew the pump. so set them 5 lbs higher than your desired pressure.(i'm not 100% positive on this but I do it with mine)

You can lose 5lb+/- when you reattach pump and yes set floats when they are off the floor to adjust accurately

Your very close to dead on . and the only way you can set them is off the floor . My RX1 is set at 65 psi and is good dose not bottom evan on the big ones .

measure off the floor.
60 on groomed trail
65 in the rough stuff.
35-40 on ice if your running radar.

I run 63 all the time.
less than 60 is terrible if its rough, you will bottom out all the time.
more than 65 results in ski lift.

I run mine at 40 psi and I have not bottomed out yet and I just have the stock swaybar. I have not hit any very rough trails though.

You only lose PSI when you first attach the pump. When you unscrew the pump you only lose the air thats still in the pump itself.

Ive always run mine 35-40...pounded some of the hardest trails last week at high speeds..NEVER have I bottomed the front end......

anytime A arms are HIGHER then LEVEL to ground, you have a higher center of gravity and you just LOST the best cornering sled feel....ski lift is then worse.

Set them level to ground(35-40max) add a 13mm bar and you got the best cornering sled ive owned to date.Including the machRT.Dont forget the pilot skis play a huge roll in this combo.

Danos RTX(left) and my RTX center....set to 35-40 with weight off sled....notice LEVEL A arms..this is when they hande best overal...no bottoming for me either.

by bottoming, i mean pan slamming the trail. if i try anything less than 60 on rough trail, my belly pan hits several times per mile.

Try them up at 60/65 psi and then lower them to 40 psi and let us know what you like. Set them off the ground. If your on the trail just tip it to one side then the other. You only lose pressure when your screwing them on (about 5 psi). The air you hear when unscrewing is coming from the pump only. You do not have to tighten the pump on real tight. I learned to ride with them between 35 and 40 psi. I went back up to 60 psi once but the ski lift was much worse. Had the wife sew me a little cloth bag to put the pump in for safe keeping. Enjoy
