Hey guys iam experiencing some issues with my fox float 2 rear skid shock. Sled has less than 30 kms on it. The shock losses rebound like crazy. Before you ride the sled the shock is hard as a rock and returns nicely. Shock is set to 150 psi with the skid not touching the ground. After a ride the shock has no rebound and looks like a low rider. I brought it to the dealer and they said that was normal and gave me every excuse in the book.

Sounds like it needs a refresh. Could be water in it. $30 for refresh. Give me a holler can get it right.

I removed it cleaned and dryed it reinstalled and it was all good
This was on my front float 3 s

Well it doesn't seem too loose air. Iam think maybe there is no fox float fluid in there or maybe there is moisture in the shock. I may have to dissemble it to find out. Enless somebody else knows a solution

You say rear ski shock ..arr you talking the ski of skid..I am not up on what runs what shock..can i see a picture?
Remove Schrader valve. If you have a strap wrench the sleeve is easily removed. Sometimes even just with your hands. Hair dryer or heat gun on low helps. With sleeve partially pushed back try compressing the shock again. It should feel constant and steady being compressed and when released it should return to fully extended in a steady extension. If that's good look for moisture in the sleeve. Dry it out. Add about a teaspoon of the Float fluid screw sleeve back on,reinstall Schrader, fill with air and then submerge in water to check for leaks.Well it doesn't seem too loose air. Also if the center shock is shot it can and will effect the rear similarity even on your uncoupled MTX. Kind of like when sled is on dollies same effect.
Rear skid shock. It's a Fox Float shock which uses a air chamber. No spring no torsion. You say rear ski shock ..arr you talking the ski of skid..I am not up on what runs what shock..can i see a picture?

Ive yet to tear apart a fox float shock that had any float fluid in the air chamer, theyve all been dry as a bone. Some of the shocks were brand new. It calls for fluid to help with stiction but they are not putting it in there.

AS far as your shock getting lower be sure to check it on level ground. It should only sag slighlty more from weight of snow that builds up . A lot of people put sled on dollys and try to test shocks, sled has to be on flat ground to check sag.
Yup I have found same thing. Putting it in there I would think has to help some.Ive yet to tear apart a fox float shock that had any float fluid in the air chamer, theyve all been dry as a bone. So ..I looked at all the sleds at Yamaha Ca web....and all the sleds had the long rear springs with a Fox shock...what am I missing ...it seems the shock is only there for damping not support?

For sure phone FOX...I have all their emails but I can't give them out...make sure you get to tech...be nice and listen don't give your ideas..just tell them the problem..
They have FOX team travelling around with sno-x that would probably rebuild it for you. Or they may have you send them the shock.
Ya..not got the nerve up to listen to the podcast yet... ...we didn't get enough time on the pro stuff which was the plan..
This is great site you guys have a lot of depth on how these 4/ work..just hope I don't have the internal problems..and have to ask...knock on wood..
