I have an 06 apex er,I cannot get the locking collar loose to adjust the spring on the front shocks.I'm afraid I'll break the shock body where it mounts if I try any harder. Any tips?

A little heat to warm it, the give it a bath in WD-40. Or get some CLR cleaner and soak it.
