First I want to thank all of the contributers here for all the informative posts.
I have an 06 apex er (4000 miles) with new pilot skiis. 6" shaper bars in center and woody's 4" on the out side. Stock shocks with springs in the front. I have replaced the spring up in the mono shock as I am 245lbs, which made an incredible difference. My question is where to adjust the coil springs on the front. I have some pushing and ski lift. I have read where using the larger tosion bar it is best to back the spring off. Is this so with my setup? Any suggestions ? I ride primarily in Vermont with tight windy trails.

A 13mm sway bar from pioneer performance and loosen the front shocks up until the spring is loose, and tighted them up just till the spring doesnt rattle. This setup has worked well for me.

One point to add to SXR600 reply is that your a-arms should be level to the ground after adjusted as described. That seems to be the sweet spot for these sleds.TBay Sledhead

With sprung sled I don't think that u can get the a-arms level to the ground. I think that is only possible with the air suspension.

Mine seems level to the ground. Front springs at their softest, front limiter strap in the middle hole, 3rd ?

Let's talk limiter strap. What effect does this have by shortening it?

I found less inside ski lift, lower front end (very little) and harder steering .

My wifes Vector (sprung) a-arms level to the ground, and Apex RTX (fox floats) level to the ground. Added Pilot skis, done deal.TBay Sledhead

I tried with 2 Attaks and neither would get the bars level.

Those shocks must have more adjustment than the Kayaba's because I can't do that with mine.quebec#1 said:Machine is on the trailer but here's a pic

Ok went for a run this afternoon & What a huge difference in the ride ! I went on twisty trails and it now corners like a stock car. Im leaving the limiter like it is by laying of the pressure on the front springs the steering is much lighter and still handles the bumps very well.
It even seems to have a bit more travel in the rear.
Just way easier to handle in the twisties and fun fun fun !
Gone is the inside ski lift .
I cant believe how a litlle set up completly change the machine !
