When my tank if full the gauge indicates full. At a 3/4 tank, the hauge indicates 1/2. Stays like that for a short time, then fall on reserve with flashing orange light(what a pain). Ashort time after, the gas gauge and orange light flash constantley. What is the problem.?I took the unit out of the tank. Looks good nosign of corrison

sounds like it is worn out. plug it in and move it manually just in case the float is sinking but i think it is just worn.

I wonder if your fuel gauge could have been fixed with running a can of Chevron Techron Plus in the fuel tank. Working for the auto industry this has been a major issue due to sulfer in the fuel. The sulfer loads up the sender resistor card and cause eratic fuel indicators. After running the Techron thru a tank of fuel the gauge usally starts working just fine.

It's really easy to remove the sender from the tank. The sender is located on the upper left in the front of the tank, reachable from underneat the hood.
Be carefuel when removing the sender, if fuel level is too high, fuel may spill.
Take out the sender and clean it with some electronic cleaner. Plug it back in without installing it into the tank, switch on ignition and check if it works on full tank/empty tank. Basically the sender is just a potentiometer.
