Fuel Line Routing for External Pump

Just wondering how most ran the feed for an external pump on the Nytro. I mounted my pump beside the battery and ran the feed over top of the tank in the same place where the stock line was. Just wondering if this could cause problems with fuel delivery? It seems when my tank gets low, I can get lean spikes once and while.
