Was swapping in trail tank and removed my fuel pump and the gasket has swollen up. I don't have a new one and betting dealership will not have it. I have stuck in freezer for over a hour and didn't shrink back to size. I have left it outside tonight as it's going to be cold 10 dregees to see if it will shrink. Is there anything else I can do? Can I use some type of sealant in place of the o ring? Don't want to loose a weekend of riding

Discovered the Wife's was leaking gas last year, thought it was just overflow from filling and trailering.
Turned out to be someone had made some sort of rubber donut looking thing & was wedged in the groove & sticking out around the fuel pump. Just her 2nd time riding the newly acquired sled, luckily we didn't have a fire...
I ordered one directly from Trail Tank, they shipped to me for like $12- 3 days from Oregon.
Be careful just using an RTV type sealant there , not sealed good or whatnot and gas / fumes start splashing around, gets down on the hot pipe below it may not be good. Aaron Excell gave me a 'lil insight + small can fire extinguisher he sells for that move when I told him ... Wife wasn't happy either.

I'd call around to dealers for one, or Trail Tank (503) 318-3139. Knowing now what could've happened I'd hold off riding till the right part is on it, sled goes up your loosing riding time anyways.
Happy trails.

X2 on getting the new gasket. I have had the gas leaking out from my trail tank and it heads right down the sides and toward hot stuff!! Trail tank is great, give them a call I'm sure they can fix you up.

Pete

Trail tank told me to use fuel resistant gasket maker. Don't remember if I used it with the gasket. That was 3yrs ago and no leaks since.

Cold will not shrink your gasket, you need to bake the gas out of it. You need heat not cold. It swelled because it absorbed fuel, if you can get the fuel to evaporate out of it then it will shrink. But it may end up being a bit harder than a new one and not work as well or it may cup.

Pete - would love to hear your review of the talon track, when it's time for me to replace my stock ripsaw I was thinking backcountry or talon.....
